SHARED LEARNING, FOOD JUSTICE & LOVE.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS?

Community Connections are collaborations and services designed and led with partners and neighbors. These programs help build collective, local resilience through community organizing, shared learning, and food justice

PLACE-BASED EDUCATION

Our partnership with the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (1100 students in six schools), focuses on strengthening and expanding place-based and food systems education.

FOOD JUSTICE

We organize and amplify the voices of those impacted by injustice in order to move toward greater food sovereignty in the Northeast Kingdom. CAE’s Food Justice programming is rooted in solidarity and relationships with each other and the NEK, from neighbors feeding neighbors to organizing with Northeast Kingdom Organizing.

Our work grows in many ways. We nurture new projects and ideas when they align with our mission and meet needs in our community.

ATKINS FIELD

The Hardwick Community Gardens are a vibrant space located at Atkins Field, with picnic tables, tools, greenhouse, shelter, and walking paths along the Lamoille River.

COMMUNITY VOICES

Bethany Dunbar

I think the garden is the most practical and fun way to be in community here in Hardwick. Every growing season is a new experience and adventurous
